Oporton International Film Festival (Fantasporto) will show the Spanish independent Sci-Fi feature film Proxima. The movie will be screened the night before the closing, into the Première & Panorama section.
Proxima is an independent feature film shooted in HD, produced by Marta Timón (FortKnox Audiovisual), co-produced by Manuel Masera (Ciberpsique Audiovisual), and with the collaboration of University of Huelva and Asociación de Antiguos Alumnos 3 de marzo.

Screenplay author and director is Carlos Atanes, who taken part in the past edition of Fantasporto with FAQ, another sci-fi independent movie which was nominated to the great european fantasy film award, the Méliès de Plata. Main characters are Oriol Aubets and Anthony Blake, among others, the movie was shooted at several places in Barcelona, Lleida and Huelva, and it tells the story of Tony, a videoshop owner who discovers that at times the fiction can defy reality. And now it's time to bagin a trip, an adventure to a place where nobody was ever.

"FAQ" nominated to the MÉLIÈS D'ARGENT

"FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions" has been nominated to the prestigious european award Méliès d'Argent, in Fantasporto 2006. The Méliès are awarded by the European Fantastic Film Festival Federation, that yearly gives in the Grand Prize of European Fantasy Film in Gold - Méliès d'Or.

"FAQ" at 29° CERTAMEN NACIONAL DE CINEMA - PREMI CIUTAT DE TERRASSA

"FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions" will be screened at Terrassa (c/ San Marian 122), on February 24. "FAQ" will be a invited film (out of competition, because the official section is only for short films), and FortKnox Audiovisual and the team of "FAQ" will be guest artist to the closing ceremony, that will be presented by the actors Nausicaa Bonnin and Roger Pera.

"FAQ" at 26° FANTASPORTO

"FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions", the science-fiction feature lenght movie directed by Carlos Atanes, continues the trip around the world festivals, and it will be shown on February 27 into the Competitive Official Section of Fantasporto, the Porto International Film Festival (Portugal), one of the most important fantastic festivals in Europe.

"FAQ", one of the very seldom science-fiction movies in the Spanish cinema history, and in spite of the few supports it had for its making, it has been rewarded with a large international acknowledgement during the last year, including the Best Feature Award from the Independent Panorama of Independent Filmmakers (Athens, Greece), and it is one of the Spanish feature movies which has the largest number of Official Selections in the whole world. At present, Atanes and his team are working on a new feature movie, and the shooting is due at summer 2006. It is an independent production too, and also a sci-fi movie (a genre they'll continue vindicating).
